PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – Last week Minister Plenipotentiary, Hon. Josianne Fleming–Artsen met with representatives from the Oranje Fonds, namely Director Ronald van der Giessen and the Deputy Director/Head of Project Advice Drs. Anne Maljers.
The visit to the Sint Maarten House was of a courtesy nature. Minister Fleming-Artsen said on Tuesday that a follow-up meeting is planned where the various possibilities will be discussed regarding how the Oranje Fonds can assist Sint Maarten foundations in the Netherlands.
Last month Minister Fleming-Artsen organized her first meeting at the Sint Maarten House for all foundations known up to that point in time that caters to the interests of Sint Maarteners residing in the Netherlands.
“The goal was to meet with as many civil society volunteers as possible from Sint Maarten who reside in the Netherlands. The objective is to learn more about the volunteers and the work that they have been involved with and about their views and initiatives.
“The Sint Maarten House is here to give guidance and look at new avenues of assistance for these foundations that will benefit the Sint Maarten community residing in the Netherlands,” Minister Plenipotentiary Hon. Josianne Fleming-Artsen said on Tuesday.
A follow-up meeting is being planned with the Sint Maarten foundation stakeholders that will include the Board of the Oranje Fonds in order to see where support and assistance can be provided.
