Nearly $10,000 in US Counterfeit Currency Seized During Drug Bust

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, April 16 2015 – Local law enforcement authorities have charged a United States female citizen, Khadisha Austin for being in the possession of US$9,500.00 in Counterfeit notes.

 Police investigations revealed that Austin, brought the counterfeit notes into Antigua and Barbuda on April 3.

On April 7, while executing a search warrant at a Cedar Grove residence, the police discovered a large sum of counterfeit currency in Austin’s possession.

Austin has been charged under the Money Laundering Prevention Act with possession of counterfeit notes, bringing into Antigua and Barbuda counterfeit notes and Under the Forgery Act possession of counterfeit currency.

Also during the execution of the search warrant a large quantity of illegal narcotics were discovered on the premises. To date no charges have been made and investigations are ongoing.
