POINT BLANCHE, St. Maarten – Port St. Maarten – Port St. Maarten Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark Mingo, on behalf of the supervisory board of directors, management, and staff, would like to wish the entire population a Safe and Happy 2015 Carnival celebration under the banner, ‘Come Experience Life.’

Carnival Village opens officially on Thursday evening, 16 April which kicks off the start of two weeks of national cultural festivities.

Mingo added that Port St. Maarten will be active during the next two weeks of Carnival celebrations to promote to cruise passengers and crew about visiting the Carnival Village to experience some of the local cuisine and any activities and events that would be taking place during the day while passengers and crew move around on the island.

Electronic display boards at the port will highlight the national cultural event and encourage passengers and crew to ‘Come Experience Life’ at the country’s premier cultural event of the year.

The month of April is forecast to attract around 200,000 cruise passengers.  If some of these passengers also visit Festival Village, it would be an additional revenue source for booth holders in the village.

The beach promenade and Front Street are in easy walking distance to the Carnival Village and taxi’s and tour operators could also stop by the village during their island tours.
