Philipsburg, Sint Maarten — The GIFTED Foundation is hosting its 3rd annual SXM Weekend of POWER this week, May 28 – 31, 2015. The line-up of events includes school tours and Caribbean Gospel Music Tour concerts, as well as the launch of the community improvement initiative, A Betta Tomorrow SXM, an extension of the initial Jamaican project. The fundraising concert on May 31st will have featured local and international artistes such as Roxsy, Kevin Smith, Rizon and DJ Nicholas. Proceeds from the A Betta Tomorrow SXM concert will go towards community-based projects through the 10 partnering schools and youth groups. For Monday, May 25th, 2015 only, GIFTED is offering a discount of half price on the second ticket at four ticket locations: Auto Depot, Family Bookstore, Van Dorp (Madame Estate), and Negril Restaurant.
Already, some organizations in the community have joined partnership with GIFTED for the A Betta Tomorrow SXM project. This Ministry of Education-endorsed event also features the first annual GIFTED Young King Awards. The nominees are featured on GIFTED Foundation’s Facebook page where the public can vote for their favourite Young King by liking their videos and profiles. The Awards are in recognition of young men who are already making a positive mark on our community in Academics, Athletics, Community Service, Expressive Arts, and Leadership.
