PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — On Wednesday April 29th the police department received a call via the Central Dispatch that a body was found in the bushes on the top of the hill in Dawn Beach area. Immediately detectives and Forensic department were directed to the scene to collect evidence and identify the body.
On the scene the investigating officers found a severely decomposed body of a still unidentified male or female. Due to the advanced discomposing situation in which the body was found it has been very difficult to determine the gender or the cause of death.
The police department is asking for assistance of anyone in the community who may have information that could lead to the identification or the cause of death of this person to immediately get in contact with the police department to share this information.
The autopsy will determine the gender and the cause of death of this person.
The police department, at this time, has no reports of missing persons.

OYSTERPOND, Sint Maarten — Reliable information Wednesday morning states that a body was discovered in oyster Pond.
It is also said that the body was discovered in an area where the authorities have made similar finds in the past. Chief Prosecutor Ton Man confirmed Wednesday afternoon that a body was discovered however he was unable to provide more information.
The Police along with the prosecutor is on location as the investigation begins.
