PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten —  VOICES Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs is inviting the people of St Maarten to their You are Greatness, you come from Greatness Cultural Ancestral July 1 Emancipation Day Celebration at the Emilio Wilson Park with the Theme Emancipation from within “The voice of Our People”

The Founder-President of VOICES Ms Nkosazana Esther Illis humbly understands and respects the Greatness and the Voice of our Ancestors and that of the People of St Maarten especially our elders of the Island.

VOICES will be honoring persons in our community who are doing great work with their VOICE.

The powerful voice of our ancestors is within us and around us we just got to listen says Ms Illis. The Emilio Wilson Park is very secret and precious, we have to honor and show respect to our Ancestors who have walked that Park before us. I honor and respect their Greatness and that is why I do not wear shoes on the grounds of the Emilio Wilson Park.

Emancipation from within” The voice of our People”

Ms Illis says when we embrace our Emancipation from within and become the Voice of our Ancestors and the People in a positive way, then and only then can we become Great Legacy Builders of our Island St Maarten.

VOICES and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs is encouraging the people of St Maarten to come out on Wednesday July 1 in their cultural wear and bring a blanket along with them so that we can have a Cultural Ancestral Celebration at the Emilio Wilson Park.

Traditional food, drinks Arts and Craft will be on sale.

There will be Bouncers and Face painting for the children and music will be by Legendary DJ Wilson.
