Dominican Republic — The international office of the Union Postal Universal (UPU) and the Secretary General of the Postal Union of the Americas, Spain and Portugal (UPAEP) had the honor in inviting our Chairman of the Board, Mr. Stuart A. Johnson to its Regional Strategic Conference, which is presently taking place in the Dominican Republic on June 10th and June 11th 2015.

The St. Maarten delegation besides Johnson also comprises Interim-Directors of PSS Ms. Antonia Wilson.  Both Johnson and Wilson left on Tuesday, June 9th 2015 to attend the conference.

The conference which is currently underway is critical for the strategic planning of the Postal Services St. Maarten (PSS) N.V. and also to define the principal areas of intervention for the Strategic Development Plan for 2017 – 2020.

“We are grateful to be a part of this strategic postal planning conference which is vital for the further growth of PSS, “remarked Ms. Wilson. “Our country is a member of the UPAEP and our attendance at this Conference for the Latin American Region is very important,” added Ms. Wilson.

“Attendance at strategic conferences such as this one is beneficial for the continuity of our young postal organization. On the regional and international level we are networking and fostering working relationships with our colleagues which can only yield to a positive outcome for the further growth of PSS,” remarked Johnson.
A subsequent strategic conference catering more specially for the Caribbean territories will be held in the month of September in Tortola.
