Two Officers shot at Police Headquarters

Antigua — Two police officers were struck by one bullet on Monday morning at the Headquarters of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda when a firearm was allegedly discharged while being cleaned.

Antigua Chronicle understands that the incident is being labeled as an “accident” and while there have been no official police statement on the matter,  some sections of the media have reported acting Commissioner Wendel Robinson as confirming that one of the injured police officer was cleaning the service revolver before it was discharged.

That one bullet reportedly struck the officer in the hand before hitting another officer in the thigh. The latter remains hospitalized.

Investigations into hte matter are ongoing.
