WEYMOUTH HILLS, Montserrat – Members for the Church of God of Prophecy on St. Maarten and the Leeward Islands are expected to gather at Victory Temple this Thursday for the first night of the bi-annual regional convention.
“Turn on the Power for the Breakthrough” is the theme of the conference which runs from July 16 to Sunday, July 19, 2015.
Regional Overseer Bishop Michael Greenaway said prayer is the focus of this year’s convocation and it is hoped it will ignite the fire for revival in the churches across the region. The overseer is expected to challenge the leadership and members to exemplify the life of Christ which can draw others to the faith.
Highlights of the convention include a minister and spouses’ workshop on Friday morning and the ordination of four new bishops on Saturday night. Guest speakers are Pastor Selwyn Hayling of Grenada; Bishop Clayton Martin, General Presbyter Caribbean & Atlantic Islands; and Bishop Winston Leith of Jamaica.
Sessions are open to the public and will be translated into Spanish and Creole. Members can use their smartphones and headphones to listen in their language.
The Leeward Islands region of the church includes the French West Indies, Dominica, Suriname, Antigua & Barbuda, St. Kitts & Nevis, Montserrat, Anguilla and St. Maarten/St. Martin.
