PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – Minister Plenipotentiary Hon. Josianne Fleming-Artsen recently received a courtesy visit from Judge Sander van Rijen who will be taking up his post in Sint Maarten as of August 1st.
Judge Van Rijen studied at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and was Chairman of the Dispute Committees in Makelaardij and Schiphol. He also worked at the Court House in Den Bosch and in Rotterdam.
Van Rijen was a lawyer/partner in Schipper van der Mersch Attorneys at Law.
“Judge Van Rijen comes with a wealth of experience in Civil Law. I wish him much success and he will be an asset along with his colleagues for the judicial system of Sint Maarten,” Minister Plenipotentiary Josianne Fleming-Artsen said over the weekend.
