Philipsburg- The University of St. Martin (USM) Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) program was featured in the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) July 2015 eNewsletter. AHLEI is the only professional development opportunity designed primarily for post-secondary education Hospitality Educators worldwide. Three of USM’s HTM faculty members recently received their certificate in Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE). The CHE program was designed and offered by AHLEI.
Receiving this national recognition is in direct alignment with our overall USM mission,” said Dr. Natasha Gittens, USM’s HTM faculty member, who has also been selected for the mentorship program to become a Master CHE® Trainer.

The AHLEI eNewsletter is distributed to over 44,450 readers, they represent active members of the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA), the staff of their Partner State Associations, AHLEI members worldwide and members of the Central Florida H&LA.
President of USM, Dr. Francio Guadeloupe commented that this featuring of USM is a sign of international recognition and contributes indirectly to the awareness of the American tourist market of our island. USM will also be offering courses designed for business granting them the opportunity to have ambassadors with a heart and mind focused on promoting our island.
