Willemstad – Curacao. During flight 7i 533 from St. Maarten to Port au Prince, Haiti, the pilots received, near the Dominican Republic, a fire alarm from the left engine.
The pilots have immediately executed the necessary and specific procedure(s) for such cases and the aircraft (MD80) has landed safely in Sto. Domingo on one engine.
The technical team of InselAir has immediately started an investigation into the cause of the fire alarm.
All passengers have been accommodated in Sto. Domingo and InselAir expects to transport all passengers as soon as possible to their final destination.
