TROPICAL STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FOR SABA

WATCHES/WARNINGS: A Tropical Storm Warning will be in effect as from 8 A.M. for Saba until further notice.

EFFECT ON LOCAL CONDITIONS: Tropical Storm Danny will continue to weaken gradually but tropical storm conditions will spread Monday morning over St. Eustatius and Saba.

Winds: On Monday morning, the local winds will shift gradually to the northeast and increase progressively, strengthening to tropical storm force (40 to 60 miles per hour) mainly in gusts. The wind direction will shift gradually to the east during the afternoon to east and then to southeast during the evening, while subsiding slowly during Monday evening or early Tuesday.

Seas: Today, waves will build gradually further in easterly swells along mainly the east facing coastal areas. On early Monday morning, the local seas will deteriorate even more, becoming rough (10 to 15 feet).

Rainfall: The associated rains are foreseen to start on Monday morning and should continue from time to time during the day through early Tuesday with some occasional thunder. Expected rainfall amounts generally between 1 and 2 inches.

Residents of Saba are advised to continue monitoring the further progress of this weather system and to take all necessary measures to safeguard life and property.
