PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten – It proved not to be a good end to the evening for two vehicle owners
Thursday after an accident between a Mini Taxi #46 Van and a high powered street bike.
Reliable sources state that the bike rider slammed into the Taxi #46 Van as it tried to make a U-Turn. The Taxi driver was traveling in the direction of Philipsburg from the Airport and the Motor Bike was traveling in the direction of the Airport.
They collided on the Welfare Road in Cole Bay, just in-front of the Puerto de Sol parking lot.
The rider of the high powered street bike, believed to be a Suzuki GSXR 1000 and the Mini Van Taxi were both transported to the St. Maarten Medical Center for treatment.
Both vehicles suffered extensive damage as a result of Thursdays accident. This incident is under investigation by the Traffic Department of the St. Maarten Police Force.
