PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — In September Vernon Richards who remained silent throughout all the reporting in the media (news-websites /newspaper) in his case, had his lawyer Cindy  Marica file an injunction.

NIPA’ s lawyer Reynolds  Groeneveldt also filed a case to dissolve the labor agreement This morning the Court ruled in both case.

Vernon Richards must be paid his salary increased with 10% late interest and legal interest from July 1st 2015 until the labor agreement is legally dissolved.

The Court deemed the dismissal null and void. This is a great victory for Richards the embattled Director of the NIPA who was fired for urgent reasons because he organized an open house where dignitaries were invited.

It doesn’t end with only this victory, in the dissolution case filed by NIPA, the judge dismissed NIPA’s request for dissolution. However, if NIPA wants to dissolve the labor agreement NIPA must pay him a termination compensation of Nafl. 280000.

If NIPA doesn’t want to dissolve and pay Richards a termination compensation of Nafl. 280000., NIPA must allow him back to work or pay Richards Usd $250 penalty per day up to maximum of Usd. $50000. Nipa must also  pay the court fees and Richards lawyer fees.

This is the 5th case we know of for NIPA this year
