Sucker Garden, St. Maarten – Week 7 of the Ladies Basketball Championship continued with 5 games consisting of 3 games in the U16 division and 2 games in the senior division.
The first game of the U16 Division saw Learning Unlimited beat Lightning 6-4. In the second game, Thunderz beat Lightning 8-6, Aisha Carty led Thunderz with 4 points and Kayla Robinson with 6 points for Lightning. In the third game, Thunderz beat Learning Unlimited 6-2. Angelique Hodge led Thunderz with 3 points and Aarti Ramchandani led LU with 2 points.
Games continued with the senior division with Lightning taking on Learning Unlimited. Lightning led 8-7 after the first quarter, 18-7 at the half and stretched their lead in the second half to win 57-22. Lightning was led by Jamaiah Newton-Herbert with 29 points and Edwina Hodge with 6 points. Learning Unlimited was led by Rachael de Groot with 14 points.
In the second senior game, Thunderz faced off against Bush T Remedy. Thunderz started the game strong and lead 21-6 after the first quarter and won handidly 40-23. Thunderz was led by Joyette Lloyd with 13 and Claudia Fleming with 12. Jacqueline Hodge led Bush T Remedy with 10 points and was supported by Shandria Lake and Shadella Williams with 5 points a piece.
Games continue this Sunday for the senior teams at 3pm as Bush T Remedy take on Lightning and at 5pm Thunderz VS Learning Unlimited. Entrance fee is $1 and food and drinks are on sale, so see you next Sunday!!
