Two arrested suspected of robbery/ police fires warning shot
Police arrested two men in the Guana Bay/ Red Pond area on Wednesday December 2nd at approximately 12.30 p.m. The arrest took place after the Emergency Dispatch received several calls concerning two or three men who were in the area probably breaking into homes.
This call came in from a concerned citizen who stayed on the line with the Emergency Dispatch who directed the investigating officers to the spot where these men were hiding.
The two suspects with initials D.G. (42) and K.T. (28) did not want to come out of their hiding spot at which time a warning shot was fired by police. The suspects were arrested shortly and taken to the Philipsburg Police Station where they remain in custody for further investigation.
Man fined for carry illegal weapon.
On Wednesday December 2nd at approximately 12.30 p.m. during a routine control by the Multi Disciplinary Team, a grey Kia Sportage jeep was stopped in the Guana Bay road.
During the control of the vehicle the officers saw that the drive had 3.5 feet long stainless steel sword stuck between the seats of the vehicle.
The driver could not give a acceptable explanation why he was driving around with that weapon.
The sword was confiscated and the driver given a fine after he was explained about the illegal act he had committed. See Photo
