The schedule for the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta is quickly filling up and regatta organizers are pleased to announce that they are bringing back Jackson Wetherbee & The CornerStone. The bands performance in 2015 was met with an enthusiastic crowd and brought a melodic groove to the Boardwalk. For the 36th edition of the event Jackson Wetherbee will be performing onSunday, March 6th 2016. His performance will kick off the evening’s music entertainment and will get the crowd grooving while the concert goers enjoy the sunset in the background.
Jackson Wetherbee, born in Georgia and raised in the South Shore of Boston, has been fine tuning his talent as an acoustic guitarist ever since his college days. He is currently backed by a talented group of band members and since their performance last March they have added three more members to their band family.
“We are so excited to be a part of the Regatta for another year! Last year’s experience was amazing, it was our first Caribbean show and everyone from Island 92, L’Esplanade and especially Heineken made it unforgettable. We are playing a blend of originals and some covers this year and with the addition of Nick Frenay on Horns, Myles Sweeney on keys, Derrick Cabral on percussion we plan to bring a huge sound and a ton of energy” Jackson stated.
This past year the band recorded their debut album and toured extensively throughout the United States honing their sound and show. In addition to the original songs written by Jackson, they also perform a variety of cover songs ranging from Bob Marley to Coldplay and a little bit of everything in between.
Sunday nights music line up will begin with Jackson Wetherbee & The CornerStone from 17:00 to 18:00 and will be followed by the official prize giving ceremony for the 36th St. Maarten Heineken Regatta. After that the schedule includes several performances by St. Maarten’s own DJ Outkast and the final performer of the evening will be Akon.
