Emergency repairs of Front Street to Commence April 10

GREAT BAY, Sint Maarten (DCOMM) – Ministry of Public Housing, Environment, Spatial Development and Infrastructure (Ministry VROMI), hereby informs residents and businesses on Front Street that infrastructural works leading to emergency repairs of the aforementioned area, will commence on Sunday, April 10.

The project will be carried out in two phases with phase 1 starting on Sunday, April 10 from Sea Palace Hotel up to the Court House.  This section of the street will be blocked from Sunday, April 10 to April 20 in order to facilitate the necessary works.

Phase 2 entails from the Court House up to Emmaplein.  This section of the street will be blocked from Sunday, April 20 to April 30.

The street repair works are scheduled to be completed before the Grand Carnival Parade on Sunday, May 1.

The road works will be carried out by Windward Roads under the coordination of Ministry VROMI.

Ministry VROMI seeks the cooperation of all residents and businesses.

Delivery of goods to and from establishments can take place via the side streets as access will remain open up to Front Street.

Vehicles should not be parked in the side streets as these should remain open at all times for emergency vehicles.
