PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — The Student Support Services Division (SSSD) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Affairs is organizing an interactive and informative Workshop entitled “ Help I am feeling the pressure” for the general public, specifically parents of preteens and teenagers.
Is your child easily influenced? Do you feel like you’re losing parental authority? Do you feel at a loss when it comes to connecting with your child? Then this workshop is for you!
Parents and other interested persons are encouraged to come out to this session which will be held on Wednesday June 1st, 2016 at the University of St. Martin from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
The objective of the session is to help families who encounter changes in the family dynamics as their children experience the positives and negatives of peer pressure. At the end of the workshop, parents would have learned new strategies to help their preteens and teens cope with peer pressure.
The Student Support Services Division(SSSD) provides services to students referred by the schools and by extension their families. These services consists of psychological services, counseling services, social work services, educational diagnostic services, career services, and parent education sessions.
