POND ISLAND – The month of June is turning out to be a very busy month of donations and contributions to the community from the TelEm Group of companies.
In this month alone, the company has assisted with the staging of a Gospel Concert, supported a softball team tournament in CuraƧao, helped to launch a Parkinsonās Foundation on St. Maarten, and also joined with No Limit Band to put on a celebration for Fatherās Day.
The companyās corporate citizenry for June also extended to assisting the Lionās Club of St. Maarten with the installation of a new board, and the Immigration Social Club in its bid to arrange events for its membership.
According to TelEm Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Helma Etnel, while the donations and contributions are only a fraction of what the company gives back to the St. Maarten community each year, the diversity and range of donations during the month of June were āquite interesting.ā
āReligion, sport, the youth, service clubs, education, culture, all were represented, showing how we respond to the needs of our community when we can,ā said Etnel.
The CFO said the more the community supports the company as valued customers, the more the company can in turn give back to its customers and the St. Maarten community.
āWe cannot always help everyone, but itās very satisfying to know that what help we can give stretches across the board,ā said Etnel.
