PHILIPSBURG – The Special Robbery Unit is presently investigating three home invasions, at different locations on the Dutch side, which occurred over the past four days.

These acts were committed by groups of unknown men, who would force themselves into the homes of the victims, hold them at gun point and then search the entire home. After taking valuables and cash, the suspects would leave the scene. No suspect(s) have been arrested in these investigations.

The Police Department is taking this opportunity, due to this trend, to advise the entire community that they should be very keen, and pay close attention to suspicious persons and vehicles in their area. They should make sure that they take all necessary precautions, such as properly locking doors and windows, turning on security alarms, turning lights on at night and most of all informing police when observing any irregular and/or suspicious activity in their neighborhood.

Anyone who may have information regarding these home invasions should immediately get in contact with the Special Robbery Unity by calling 542-2222 ext. 213, 214 or 215. Police also continue to encourage the entire community to make use of the anonymous tip-line # 9300, which is also available 24 hours a day, to share information regarding criminal investigations and other criminal activities.

The tip line is completely secure and all information remains totally confidential.
