PHILIPSBURG – Leader of the United St. Maarten Party (USP) Frans Richardson on Monday, July 25, extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the board and members of the USP, to the family and friends of educator and civil servant Chantal Schaminee-Ringeling, who passed away on Monday after a battle with cancer.

“Chantal was a dedicated educator and administrator in her functions within government at the Inspectorate of Education. She also devoted so much of her time and energy to community service, be it with the St. Maarten Lions Club or any other volunteer community initiative that caught her eye,” Richardson said.

“Her standing among her former students is one of positive influence and inspiration and many will remember her as devoted, caring and truly concerned that they develop into solid citizens of St. Maarten. She always had a genuine interest in her students. On behalf of the USP, we extend our condolences to her family and thank them for allowing her to be such an important role model for the young people of St. Maarten,” Richardson concluded.
