PHILIPSBURG – Student Support Services Division (SSSD) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Affairs is organizing an interactive workshop entitled, “Choosing a Career or Study,” for students in their last two years of school, or those who recently completed secondary school on Thursday, August 25.

This workshop will be held at the University of St. Martin (USM) from 5:00pm to 6:00pm and is free of charge.

Exploring various career options, not overlooking other career options, choosing a career path and overcoming being undecided about a major or study at college/university will be the focus at this workshop.

“It can be challenging to choose a career or study to pursue after completing secondary school because students have many choices and are often undecided about what they would like to pursue. At this workshop students will be given pointers and tips on how their skills, interests and other factors can relate to their choice of career or study,” stated SSSD officials.

Students are encouraged to be on time. Students are also encouraged to contact the career guidance counselor Mr. Chance at 543-1235 for more information. The SSSD office is located in the Amigo Building across from the Police Station and next to Windward Islands Bank (WIB).

SSSD provides many services to students. Some services include: psychological, counseling, social work, educational diagnostic, career, and parent education.
