MADAME ESTATE – Every year St. Maarten Cable TV nominates an organization for a grant to the Caribbean Cable and TV Association Community Program.
This year St. Maarten Cable TV nominated the Shoot Hoops, Not Guns project. The Shoot Hoops, Not Guns project was one of the many recipients of the region that got a donation of $1,200.
St. Maarten Cable TV Managing Director Beulah Jonis said: “Following that presentation to the foundation in May, we approached several of our channel providers for assistance. One of the first to step up to the plate was Gulfcom, who is the provider of several channels we have on our lineup. Gulfcom selected Gone Viral TV (GVTV), Ch. 284 to donate 2,500 t-shirts for the Shoot Hoops, Not Guns project, which the Shoot Hoops, Not Guns committee will distribute to the schools on St. Maarten. This is in order to increase the awareness on (gun) violence in our community, and have dialogues started on how to curb the (gun) violence. Together with GVTV, we are honored to be able to be part of this community program.”
GVTV is a channel based out of Barbados and distributed exclusively by Gulfcom Inc. Servicing Pay-TV operators in the Caribbean, North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. GVTV broadcasts popular Internet-based content, which has previously aired on YouTube, Vimeo and other online networks. GVTV is currently being aired on Barbados, Aruba, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, Columbia, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Vincent, Venezuela, Europe, Asia and the US.
The Shoot Hoops, Not Guns committee thanked St. Maarten Cable TV and Gone Viral TV for partnering in the project.
