PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — The Council of Advice presented the Prime Minister with its annual report 2015 on Thursday September 8th 2016.
The Council of Advice of St. Maarten is an independent body and a High Council of State of St. Maarten.
The Council of Advice guards the democracy and constitutional state of St. Maarten by providing Independent, Qualitative, Accurate, Sound, Just and Fair advice to the Government and Parliament.
In the annual report an outline is given of the Council’s activities in 2015, such as the advices given to Government and Parliament, the composition of the Council, the Council’s financial management, lectures given, trainings and courses attended etc. As in previous years, this year, the Council has highlighted a topic which has been at the forefront of many advice requests in the past year. This year the topic is: the challenges pertaining to Public Finance.
