GREAT BAY, Sint Maarten (DCOMM) – The Inspectorate TEZVT (Ministry of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunications) would like to advise vendors in the government designated market(s) of the following.

According to art. 12 of the Landsverordening Openbare straathandel it is not permitted to transport goods or wares to the market earlier than two hours before the start of the market.

The removal of all goods, wares and vehicles must be completed no later than one hour after the close of the market. The opening hours of the market are daily from 08:00AM until 06:00PM except on the days specifically stated in the vending permit.

Article 17 sub (d) stipulates that the permit holder is forbidden from taking up more space than has been allotted to him. Lastly, article 27 states that the permit holder is obliged to ensure that the stand is always well-groomed.

The permit holder must collect his waste, packaging and the like himself. Before leaving the market premises, he [permit holder] must make his stand and its immediate surroundings clean and to deposit the waste in the appropriate containers.

The Inspectorate TEZVT encourages all market vendors to abide by these stipulations and the conditions in your vending permit in order to maintain the cleanliness of the market and public order. Failure to comply can result in sanctions being taken against you.
