Direct 911 emergency line temporarily out of service

PHILIPSBURG – The direct emergency 911 phone lines are presently encountering some technical operational difficulties.

On Wednesday, November 16, Central Emergency Dispatch received information that no calls were reaching the 911 emergency lines. Immediately, the telephone service providers were contacted and informed of the situation. The telephone service providers are investigating the cause of the problem.

Meanwhile, the entire community is advised that in any case of emergency, they can dial 542-2222 and when the recording comes on to press #1. This will connect the caller to the Central Emergency Dispatch. The caller will then get someone on the line who is readily available to assist them with their emergency situation.

As soon as the telephone service providers resolve this technical problem and the situation has returned to normal, the community will be informed. “We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused,” a release said.
