Former Prime Minister (PM) William Marlin

PHILIPSBURG – On, Wednesday, November 9, the parliament meeting was set to discuss the situation at Captain Oliver’s Marina.

Prime Minister William Marlin received a hard copy of a letter from Prefete Deluegee Anne Laubies. The email version was not received due to the network failure. “The meeting in parliament this afternoon, is to inform members of Parliament as to what has transpired, what took place, what the actions of the Prime Minister have been, what I have done, what my position is, and to keep Parliament informed. I don’t think it is an incident we should take lightly, I don’t think it’s something we should just shrug our shoulders at,” Prime Minister Marlin said.

According to him, Oyster Pond has always been within the 16 square miles of the Dutch side. “We need to be able to live in peace and harmony with our neighbor and an act like this we consider not one that fosters a good relationship between the two sides of the island,” Marlin noted.
