MONTSERRAT — Festival Village will be popping tonight as Black Rhythms turns up the music in the background for the nine women competing in the Regional Female Calypso Monarch Show.
Called Queen of Queens, the nine performers have held or a current holders of their national calypso monarch crowns.
Two-time winner of the crown Chrystal Cummins-Beckles-Holder (Barbados) is back to defend her crown. Also competing are Shaunelle McKenzie (St Vincent & the Grenadines), Shakiya (St Maarten), Caribbean Queen (USVI), Menell (St. Lucia), Queen Kibi (St Kitts), Queen Thalia (Antigua & Barbuda), Roxxy (Anguilla), and Khandie (Montserrat).
Scheduled to begin at 8:00PM, the women will sing two songs in hopes of taking the crown.
