ANGUILLA – The Ministry of Social Development, in collaboration with the Anguilla Cultural and Festival Development Committee, announces the following proposed dates for the Anguilla Summer Festival 2017:
Tuesday, August 1 – Opening Night and Prince and Princess Show
Wednesday, August 2 – Talented Teen Pageant
Thursday, August 3 – Soca and Groovy Competition
Friday, August 4 – Junior and Senior Monarch Competition
Saturday, August 5 – Band Clash
Sunday, August 6 – Ms. Anguilla Pageant
Monday, August 7 – J’ouvert and Caribbean Beach Party
Tuesday, August 8 – Private event
Wednesday, August 9 – Private event
Thursday, August 10 – Leeward Islands Calypso Competition
Friday, August 11 – Grand Parade of Troupes
The Ministry is offering the opportunity for individuals or companies interested in producing the Caribbean Beach Party or producing musical events on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 and Wednesday, August 9, 2017 to submit proposals. Proposals are to be submitted to Community Services Planner Hyacinth Bradley, at the Ministry of Social Development (497-3930) on or before January 20, 2017.
The Ministry is willing to make a small contribution towards the costs of production of these events.
Additionally, private promoters, who are not submitting proposals, but wish to have their events reflected on the official Summer Festival Calendar, are encouraged to contact Bradley as well.
