Rotary Club greet 1st baby of 2017

PHILIPSBURG – The Rotarians of Mid Isle had the bags packed ready to launch their Welcome Baby Bags Project on December 31, 2016 to welcome to the world the 1st baby born in 2017 on St. Maarten.

The bags contained items necessary for the newborn baby and new mother.

The first baby – a boy – was born to Lenis Petion-Charles on Tuesday, January 2, 2017 at 10:03am at the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC). Delighted Rotarians President Elect Anjali Manek, Rotarians David and Denise Antrobus and Rotarian Louis Wever were present at the hospital to deliver the Welcome Baby Bag to the proud parents and welcome the new baby boy.

“We would like to thank Bebe n Kids, CIA Interact Club and Dominoes for contributing to our Baby Welcome Bags and also extend our thanks to Penny’s, Visser Pharmacy, and Lucky Wholesale,” a statement said.
