PHILIPSBURG – The Oranje School had their annual Book Week celebration February 20-24.
Book Week is aimed at stimulating the value and love of reading in students. This year’s theme is “Transportation/Dependability” with the slogan, “No Gas Required, Depend on Reading to Travel the World.” The week of celebration ended with a parade on Friday, February 24, between 9:00am and 11:00am.
The route was: Oranje School – up Front Street – W.G. Buncamper Rd – turn left at Freedom Fighter roundabout – turn left at GEBE – Schoolsteeg alley and back to Oranje School.
Students wore Book Week t-shirts, with some wearing costumes depicting the theme. A drum band led the parade. Students were accompanied by their respective class teachers as well as parents/guardians.
