HOPE ESTATE – On March 21, NIPA Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) students accompanied by their instructor Nichelle Van der Mark, visited the St. Maarten Senior Citizens Recreational Center in Hope Estate.
The students went from 9:00am to 11:00am, dressed in bright pink and white; a dress code which the students came up with, to bring an atmosphere of brightness and cheerfulness to the center.
The visit was part of the “Caring for the Elderly” subject, which gave students hands on experience in this area. Students participated in playing games, as well as the morning devotion.
The elderly were so disappointed to see them go, that students are planning to revisit the center in the near future.
