PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — The Sport Scholarship training, hosted by the Piper Davis Baseball organization, sponsored by the Ministry ECYS, commenced on Thursday July 27th. Mr. Skeete and Mr. Dixon, two former pro baseball players , addressed local student athletes.
The opening of the training began with words of encouragement and inspiration. Mr. Skeete and Mr. Dixon gave the athletes advice on training, playing the respective sports, and possibilities of university or college admittance.
Minister Jacobs encouraged the student athletes to listen to the advice of both gentlemen as they have both made it in their respective sports and to strive for greatness in whatever they decide to put their minds to. The training will continue until Saturday, July 29th, at the Little League Stadium.
