PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten — Visual Arts Instructor Mrs. Zestia Shigemoto – Duncan organized a “Meet & Critique” art review and discussion for her 4th Form students of the Charlotte Brookson Academy of the Performance Arts (CBA) last Wednesday.

CBA’s Visual Arts program students are preparing for their CSEC Visual Arts exam and the artist and entrepreneur Lucinda “LaRich” Audain was invited as the “Meet & Critique” guest presenter, said Shigemoto- Duncan.

Audain spoke with the students about how she had prepared for her CXC art exam and the importance of art in St. Maarten. Audain also spoke about illustration techniques, water colour, oils, portrait painting, colour awareness, learning to interpret art, time management, and “nurturing your creativity”.

A sample painting of each student was reviewed by Audain, who then encouraged students to remain dedicated towards the arts in St. Maarten, said Shigemoto- Duncan.
