Two lucky persons have been identified by Port St. Maarten, and the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau STB, as the winners of their joint sweepstakes that ran from April 2018 through mid-July 2018 on the Porthole’s cruise website.

The sweepstakes winners have been identified as Mike M, from Cleveland Ohio, Robin T, from Boston Massachusetts. The announcement was made via a press release issued jointly by the STB and Port St. Maarten on Thursday, July 26.

Mike M. was the lucky winner of a ‘five-night romantic giveaway’ for two at the Simpson Bay Beach Resort courtesy of the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau STB.

Robin T. was the winner of a ‘five-nights Caribbean cruise’ for two, courtesy of Port St. Maarten.

The objective of sweepstakes was to exploit the reach of the internet to increase St. Maarten’s online presence and create positive destination awareness. The STB and Port St. Maarten continues to promote the island’s revitalization after the passing of the catastrophic hurricane Irma in September 2017.

“The St. Maarten Tourist Bureau and its team are happy to be part of such initiative with Port St. Maarten, in our efforts to heighten the awareness about the destination and the fact that we are “open for business.”

Port St. Maarten Management expressed its delight that the STB has joined the campaign, and says it looks forward to future endeavors aimed at bringing awareness to cruise passengers and visitors in general, regarding the unique St. Maarten experiences and excitement that awaits when they “Re-discover the ‘Friendly Island.”

Since the beginning of 2018, Port St. Maarten has placed much of its attention on keeping International stakeholders informed about the Island’s recovery, including providing information on new visitor experiences that are expected shortly and those already created.

PPI Digital Group was commissioned by the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau and Port St. Maarten to create two (2) sweepstakes on the Porthole’s cruise website, which is an online travel editorial for savvy consumers worldwide.

The winners were selected by a random drawing of over twenty thousand submissions to the sweepstakes giveaways.

This campaign also tied into coverage within PPI’s magazines, highlighting the experiences to enjoy while vacationing on the Island, Post Irma.
