SSSD hosting free workshop entitled “Looking Beyond:
Helping Your Child With Career Choices” on April 12, 2022
PHILIPSBURG – Why wait until it is too late, worrying and stressing about what will become of your child?
Parents are often the first role model and source of information to children. Consequently, the Student Support Services Division (SSSD)of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport aims to inform parents on various ways they may offer support to their child’s future career success.
SSSD is organizing the workshop entitled “Looking Beyond: Helping Your Child With Career Choices” that will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the University of St. Martin from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
This free workshop aspires to inform parents of secondary school students with tips, strategies, and resources to aid their children in researching careers, exploring career options, and helping them decide on a career choice.
Persons interested in attending are urged to contact the SSSD’s office at 543-1235 and reserve a spot. In addition, since Covid is still around, the necessary precautions will be taken such as social distancing and wearing of masks.
The SSSD office is located in the Gatspy’s Building across from the Police Station and next to the WIB. SSSD provides many services to students. Some services include: psychological services, counseling services, speech language pathology services, social work services, educational diagnostic services, career services, and parental workshop.
