Philipsburg – The Windward Islands Teachers Union (WITU) is pleased to announce the commencement of the board election process for the upcoming term. This critical event will determine the leadership and direction of the union for the next tenure.

Interested WITU members are invited to submit their nominations via email to witu.teachers@gmail.com

Nominations should clearly state the desired position, either for the role of president or as a member of the board.

The Postulation Day is scheduled to commence on February 5 to 19, a duration of two weeks, providing ample time for members to express their interest in serving the union in a leadership capacity.

President of WITU, Stuart Johnson, extends a warm invitation to all members who are passionate about advancing the interests and welfare of educators in St.Maarten to join the board for the forthcoming term.

The culmination of this democratic process will occur on March 5, 2024, with the election of the new board taking place at the WITU office.

This pivotal event will determine the individuals entrusted with steering the union towards its goals and objectives.

“Further information regarding the election process will be disseminated to all WITU members in due course, ensuring transparency and inclusivity throughout the entire procedure,” Johnson concluded.
