PHILLIPSBURG-– Member of Parliament Richinel Brug announced in a press statement Thursday morning the winners of his Lucky 7 Classroom Material project.

“I am thrilled to announce the winners of the Lucky 7 Classroom Material project! Congratulations to Mr. Charles Rollan, Ms. Tiffany Richardson, Ms. Beverley Orr, Ms. Allison Harry (Teacher Mars), Ms. Raeann Ford, Ms. Cassandra Richardson, and Ms. Shyrah Lewis.”

“I would like to thank all the teachers and parents who took part in this project. It was extremely encouraging to see parents submit a motivation for their favorite teachers. At the same time this project has once again revealed the challenges our teachers go through daily. Some teachers requested assistance with supplies that add to the basic educational needs of our students such as puzzles, material to decorate reading areas, etc., while others requested basic supplies such as pencils, scissors and garbage bins.”

“There were also requests for cleaning material and sanitary supplies. It is disheartening to think that parents have had to resort to asking for basic necessities such as toilet paper and Clorox wipes to be provided for their children at school. These requests once again shed light on the dire situation faced by many schools, where essential supplies are not readily available due to financial constraints.”

“As we embark on a new school year, let’s remember to support and uplift our educators who play a vital role in shaping the future of our children. I want to wish all students, parents, teachers, and staff a successful school year ahead. Your dedication and hard work do not go unnoticed, and I encourage you to keep pushing forward despite the challenges you may face.”
