Sint Maarten Christian Party (SMCP) invites Public to its General Meeting

Great Bay, St. Maarten – The Sint Maarten Christian Party (SMCP) will be hosting a general meeting on December 1, 2015 at Belair Community Centre at 7:30 pm. This general meeting serves to inform the public about the objectives and goals of the party. Also, it is an opportunity for the public to ask questions and engage directly with the faith- based political party.

Founded by Mr. Wycliffe Smith, former Lt. Governor of Saba, policy advisor, and retired pastor,  and Mr. James Edwin Arrindell, pastor of Christian Faith Ministries, the St. Maarten Christian Party is one of the new political parties recently created to contest in the snap elections scheduled on February 9, 2016.  Having fulfilled all of the requirements with regards to the party registration under the National Ordinance of Registration and Finances of Political Parties, SMCP is now able to properly inform the public of its plans to serve the people in a way that brings about true change.

SMCP is not an organization founded  by a church but by concerned citizens who believe firmly in living a life of integrity and serving the people. Guided by Christian principles, the SMCP is focused on providing tangible solutions to empower the people of St. Maarten and by so doing, realize a vision of a better St. Maarten. This will be explained in further detail at the general meeting. Other topics would include the party organization, committees, membership, and manifesto.

Though there has been much talk about a possible postponement of the snap elections, SMCP is prepared to contest in the elections at any given time and would like to inform and involve the public of its plans so that the people can make an informed decision.

Interested persons are invited to come to the Belair Community Center at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, December 1, 2015.  Snacks and drinks will be provided. For further information, please send email the Sint Maarten Christian Party at serve4achange@gmail.com .
