Armed robberies

The Police Special Robbery Unit is presently investigating two recent armed robberies, which took place in the late evening and early morning hours of Friday, April 8, and Saturday, April 9.

One robbery took place at a secondary school in the St. Peters area where the two security guards that were on duty were robbed of their belongings by four young men, possibly teenagers, who had their faces covered. One of them was in possession of a firearm. After committing this act, all four persons fled the scene on foot.

The second robbery took place on Billy Folly Road in the vicinity of Buccaneer’s and Burger King. The victims were robbed of their cash and cellphones by two unknown armed men.

The suspects had their faces covered, and after committing this act they fled the scene on foot.


Chain snatching

The Detective Department is presently investigating several cases of “chain snatching,” which have recently taken place.

Detectives are warning the general public to be very careful when venturing out during the day and at night with expensive chains around their neck.

The Detective Department has noticed an increase in this criminal act.


“Menam” case in court

640x360 Jovanni Leon and Kilo GottiThe Police Department is informing the general public that the “Menam” case (Gamali “Benji” Benjamin case) will be handled in the Court of First Instance this coming Wednesday, April 13, from 9:00am to 12:00pm, and from 2:00pm until the court is adjourned.

This court session will be held at the Belair Community Center in Cay Hill under very strict rules and extremely tight security.
