21 yr. old on remand for attempted murder

ANGUILLA — The Royal Anguilla Police Force on Wednesday 4th May, 2016 arrested and charged 21 yr. old Rashe Hodge of  South Hill for attempted murder.

The alleged offender who appeared before the Magistrate’s Court today Thursday 5th May, 2016 charged with the offence was remanded at Her Majesty’s Prison until Thursday 12th May, 2016 when he will return before the court to answer to the charge.         .

The RAPF would like to remind the public that:

  1. The defendant is entitled to a fair trial;
  2. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty;
  3. Nothing would be stated or published which would prejudice a fair trial taking place; and
  4. Section 116(g) of the Criminal Code applies and which provides for an offence in respect of any person who, while a judicial proceeding is pending, makes use of any speech or writing misrepresenting such proceeding or capable of prejudicing any person in favor of or against any parties to such proceeding, or calculated to lower the authority of any person before whom the proceeding is to be held.
