PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten – Customs at SXM Airport intercepted a large amount of cash on Wednesday.
The unreported cash was being transported by three Latin passengers from a Central American country when they were intercepted at the airport by the customs department.
According to Gino Bernadina of the Prosecutors Office on St. Maarten, the two were given a fine for the transportation of the unreported case, a total of 10% after which they were released and allowed to continue their journey to an unmentioned destination.
