PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — The Prosecutor on Wednesday, June 8, requested the suspects in the Mahi Mahi investigation, K.L. and A.J. to be remanded to custody (bewaring) for 8 days. The Judge of Instruction granted the prolonged custody of the suspects.
K.L. and A.J. got injured during the May 29, shooting at the Westin Dawn Beach Resort parking lot, at approximately 10:00am. They are suspected of involvement in the shooting (K.L. and A.J.) and possession of a large number of false dollar bills (only K.L.).
The third suspect (L.W.) is still hospitalized in the Dominican Republic, and is receiving medical treatment for the injuries he sustained during the shooting.
