PHILIPSBURG – The Power of Knowledge series will continue on Thursday, July 7 at 6:30pm at the Philipsburg Jubilee Library with an informative and interactive discussion on natural hair texture by Rochelle Ward, who is Managing Director of “Don’t Break the Comb.”

The Power of Knowledge series is for everyone who desires knowledge. This session will equip and bring greater awareness and appreciation for one’s natural hair and beauty.

The lecture will consist of an explanation about different hair types and structure; how one can take care and use basic hair care; apply hairstyles to their natural hair, as well as hair challenges like hair loss, and the natural products that can maintain the natural beauty of one’s hair.

Ward has organized a number of events including Partners in Crime – going natural and staying natural; Hard Hair – St. Martin Women and the Culture of Natural Hair, and hosted the I AM Beautiful Caribbean Natural Hair and Skin Workshop Tour.

Ward has been natural for most of her life, and has had her fair share of breaking a number of combs. She is still determined to manage, and basks in celebrating the beauty of natural hair.

Come out and gain knowledge about natural hair and natural beauty at the library this Thursday, July 7, at 6:30pm “because your natural hair matters to us.”
