PHILIPSBURG – “Education is dear to me and assisting our students with the tools needed to achieve success is important,” remarked Miss Mature Carnival Queen 2016 Norrisa Anatol.
Last Thursday, August 11, Yomarie Hodge in the presence of his parents and Principal Stuart Johnson was presented with his school uniform and a backpack filled with school supplies for the school year 2016-2017.
He is a Cycle 1 Year 4 student at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Primary School located in the district of Dutch Quarter. Hodge was very grateful to receive his school supplies and promised to take good care of them.
“With education being a part of my platform as Miss Mature Carnival Queen 2016, I felt personally touched when I was able to provide school supplies for Yomarie,” Anatol stated.
Anatol would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Tamara James for her assistance in this contribution to Hodge. Anatol conveyed that the realities in public education requires the attention of the community to reach out, touch lives and assist where help is needed.
“I am strongly encouraging all students to shine this school year, remain focused and to do your best in all areas,” Anatol concluded.
