PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten – The Parliamentary plenary public meeting that was scheduled to deliberate on the Ministry of Justice and its relationship within the Kingdom did not take place on Monday.
The meeting was to have been held at 2.00 pm and was at the request of Members of Parliament (MPs) MP Leona Marlin-Romeo, MP Van Hugh de Weever, MP Franklin Meyers, MP Theodore Heyliger, MP Lloyd Richardson, MD, MP Johan Leonard and MP Tamara Leonard.
This meeting was to have been a continuation of the meeting that started and was adjourned on June 22, 2016.
Chairlady of Parliament MP Sarah Wescot Williams stated on Monday that the meeting was postponed based on the unavailability of the Justice Minister.
She also confirmed that the parliament will be meeting Tuesday and at that time the parliament will be discussing laws pertaining to the timeshare industry.
