PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — One suspect was arrested by a police patrol in Cape Bay on Wednesday at approximately 01.10 a.m. for the possession of an illegal firearm. The suspect was seen riding a scooter without license plate and no helmet.
He tried to evade the patrol that chased after him through the streets in Cape Bay. After this short chase the suspect was arrested after a loaded gun was found behind the garbage bin he had hidden the scooter.
The firearm and scooter were confiscated. The suspect with initials F.A.B. (24) was taken to the Philipsburg Police Station where he remains in custody for further investigation.
