Minister Jacobs gives update on relocation

“There are still some glitches that need to be ironed out, however, all in all, the students have been dispersed to the different locations and the management and staff will continue to do all possible to make their stay in these facilities, together with the other school managers and the managers of the facilities as safe and as conducive to education as possible,” the Minister said.

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — The emergency solution that was devised for the Leonald Conner School is being carried out. Most of the classes were able to start Wednesday, November 9.

All of the moving and setting up took place yesterday, Tuesday, and were finalized this morning.

Head of Division of Public Education Glenderlin Davis-Holiday as well as management of Leonald Conner School updated Minister Jacobs.

According to the Minister, she is looking forward to being updated as the week progresses.

Update on relocation of staff and students of Leonard Connor School

PHILIPSBURG – In an update on the relocation of the students and staff of the Leonard Connor School, Head of Division Public Education (DPE) Glenderlin Davis-Holiday confirmed that the five locations are fully functional. 

The five locations that the students have been relocated to are:

Cole Bay Methodist Church Center;

Seventh Day Adventist Church Hewey Building;

Dr. Martin Luther King Primary School;

Dr. Alma Fleming-Rogers Center;

Marie Genevieve de Weever School.

Classes have fully resumed on Wednesday, November 9.

The Ministry Education, Culture, Youth and Sport (ECYS) would like to thank the parents, students, staff and management of Leonard Connor School, Head of DPE Davis-Holiday, Cole Bay Methodist Church, Seventh Day Adventist Church, and management and staff of Dr. Martin Luther King School, Dr. Alma Fleming-Rogers Center, and Genevieve de Weever School for their cooperation and accommodations they have provided for staff and students of the Leonard Connor School.
